We offer a way to manage permissions for existing "User" roles for console for:
Controls (PLCs)
Projects
To navigate to the Permissions Management view, please click the "Permissions" symbol in the User Management view.
The Permissions Management view has two tabs:
Resources: here you can list all Controls (PLCs) or Projects (select view drop-down) and see all console users that are associated with a Control (PLC) or a Project
Users: here you can list all console users and see all the resources (Controls or Projects) associated with each console user
As described above, the Resources view shows all available Controls or Projects.
By activating the drop-down of a resource, you can see all the associated console users, edit/delete permissions for a specific console user, or add a permission for another console user.
As described above, the Users view shows all available console users.
By activating the drop-down of a console user, you can see all the associated resources and permissions, edit/delete permissions for a specific resource, or add a permission for another resource to the console user.
You can add temporary permissions in both, the Resources and the Users view of the Permissions management. Below is an example for the Resources view.
For the CodeSys PLC, we want to upgrade the READ permission temporarily to an EDIT + DELETE (Admin) permission for Robert.
Click on the pencil icon, ...
...select the target permission as EDIT + DELETE, ...
...choose an expiration date and time...
...as well as the fallback permission after expiration (choosing a fallback READ permission for this example).
The list now shows the expiration date and the new permission value.
After expiration, the permission value has "fallen back" to READ.
