Product Overview
The SDA Platform provides a unified interface for managing industrial automation environments across devices, projects, pipelines, security, and infrastructure. The product experience is designed around clarity, consistency, and ease of navigation, enabling engineers, administrators, and operators to interact with complex OT systems through a streamlined web console.
User Interface Overview

The SDA Console is organized into three primary interface regions:
1. Global Navigation Menu Located on the left side of the screen, the navigation panel provides access to all major product areas.
Main Navigation
Groups
Gateways
Devices
Projects
Documents
Pipelines
Hubs
Security Hub
Administration
General Settings
Users
Roles
Workstations (SRA)
License Management
Each section is further described in the documentation across the following chapters.
Tenant Switcher - Located on the lower left is a tenant switcher that provides access to other tenants, if the logged in user belongs to more than one tenant. Each tenant requires a separate subscription.
2. Main Content Workspace This is the central area where the majority of your work is performed. Depending on the selected module, this workspace presents dashboards, tables, detail views, configuration forms, diagrams, or editors for
Home Page Dashboard providing one-click access to your recent work
Groups providing the ability to organize operations
Gateways, Devices & Projects management
Documents management
Pipelines creation, managment and execution
IDEaaS browser-based engineering sessions
Editors to view, update or modify objects in the system
Administration areas for Users, Roles, Company, Licensing, Billing
The workspace is designed to surface contextual information and actions—reducing the number of clicks required to perform common tasks.
3. User Menu Located in the top-right corner, the user panel provides quick access to:
User profile & preferences
Theme and display options
Language
Log out
The user panel also surfaces role and permission information so users clearly understand what capabilities they have within the platform.
4. Notifications

The SDA Platform includes a centralized Notifications panel that keeps users informed about important events, system activity, and actions relevant to their role. Notifications surface pipeline completions, device connectivity changes, project updates, security alerts, and administrative events, allowing users to quickly understand what requires attention. The panel consolidates real-time and historical messages in one place, provides clear status indicators, and links directly to affected resources for fast troubleshooting or follow-up. Notifications are contextual to each user’s permissions, ensuring that individuals only receive alerts relevant to their responsibilities within the tenant.
5. Factory Operator (AI Assistant)

Factory Operator is SDA’s built-in AI assistant that enables automation engineers to interact with the platform using natural language. Instead of navigating through multiple menus or configuration steps, users can simply ask Factory Operator to perform actions such as creating new PLCs, connecting gateways, generating backups, or initiating deployments. The assistant understands OT-specific terminology and guides users through tasks, validates required inputs, and can even recommend best practices based on the user’s intent. By turning complex workflows into conversational requests, Factory Operator accelerates onboarding, reduces errors, and helps engineers operate their automation environment more efficiently.
